(The higher the climb, the harder the fall.)

2. Ing paro macabaluctut dalan ne ning masalusung agus.
(A bent shrimp allows the current to pass through.)

3. Ing asung macabaluctut butul man e macapulut.
(A lazy dog will not find even a bone.)

4. E ca lalapit qng api nung e ca bisang mapali.
(Don’t come near a fire if you don’t want to risk being burned.)

5. E mangaplas ing alang sugat.
(If there’s pain there must be a wound.)

6. Alang asung quinaung a e ra queungan; alang meiling e ra quelian.
(No dog barks unless barked at; no one smiles unless smiled at first.)

7. Queng maranup alang masias a tinape.
(No bread is ever hard to a hungry person.)

8. Ing malulumud pataram man calawatan na.
(A drowning man will clutch even a blade.)

9. Ing itu balican ne ing labug na.
(A mudfish always retraces its path.)

10. Panayan mu caring anac mu ing depatan mu cang tata mu.
(Expect your children to treat you the way you treated your father.)
